Please read these terms carefully before accessing or using the Digital Citizenship UAE platform. By continuing, you agree to be bound by these conditions.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing, registering for, or using the Digital Citizenship UAE platform (the “Platform”), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”) and all applicable UAE laws and regulations.
If you are accessing the Platform on behalf of a government entity, ministry, educational institution, or organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
Definitions
Platform Access & Eligibility
The Platform is designed for use by residents, citizens, students, and government employees in the United Arab Emirates. Access may also be granted to authorised international partners or institutions.
- You must be at least 13 years of age to create an Account. Users under 18 require parental or guardian consent.
- You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current registration information and to keep it updated.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Account credentials and for all activity under your Account.
- The Operator reserves the right to suspend or terminate Accounts found to be in violation of these Terms without prior notice.
- Access may be restricted by geographic region, institutional affiliation, or organisational enrolment as determined by the Operator.
User Responsibilities & Conduct
You agree to use the Platform solely for its intended educational purpose. The following conduct is expressly prohibited:
- Attempting to circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security feature of the Platform.
- Sharing, distributing, or reselling Course Content, assessments, or answer keys without explicit written permission.
- Submitting assessments on behalf of another person or using any artificial means to complete assessments.
- Uploading, transmitting, or linking to any harmful, abusive, defamatory, or unlawful content.
- Impersonating any person, government authority, or organisation.
- Engaging in any conduct that violates UAE Federal Law No. 34 of 2021 on Combating Rumours and Cybercrime, or any other applicable UAE law.
- Using automated scripts, bots, or data-scraping tools to access or extract content from the Platform.
Intellectual Property
All Content on the Platform — including course materials, module texts, illustrations, videos, interactive tools, assessment questions, and the Digital Citizenship UAE branding — is owned by or licensed to the Operator and is protected under UAE intellectual property law and applicable international treaties.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Platform Content solely for personal, non-commercial educational purposes. This licence does not include the right to reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any Content without explicit written authorisation from the Operator.
The UAE flag, national emblems, and any associated government insignia remain the exclusive property of the United Arab Emirates government and may not be reproduced outside the Platform context without formal government approval.
Certifications & Assessments
Digital Certificates issued by the Platform represent the completion of designated learning modules and pathways. The following terms apply:
- Certificates are issued in the name of the registered Account holder and may not be transferred to any other individual.
- Misrepresentation of a Certificate — including falsifying completion, altering document details, or fraudulently claiming a Certificate — is a serious violation and may be referred to relevant UAE authorities.
- The Operator reserves the right to revoke any Certificate if evidence of academic fraud or a Terms violation is discovered.
- Pass marks and assessment requirements are set at the discretion of the Operator and may be updated periodically without prior notice.
- The Operator does not guarantee that any Certificate will be recognised by any third-party employer, institution, or authority unless a formal recognition agreement is in place.
Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Platform and its Content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
- The Platform may not always be available without interruption or error.
- Information or content on the Platform may not be complete, accurate, or current at all times.
- The Platform cannot be guaranteed to be free from viruses or other harmful components.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Platform.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates, including but not limited to:
Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Arab Emirates. Users who access the Platform from outside the UAE are responsible for ensuring compliance with their local laws.
Amendments
The Operator reserves the right to revise these Terms at any time. When material changes are made, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document and, where appropriate, notify registered users via email or through an in-platform notification.
Your continued use of the Platform following the posting of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
